All of us have been at the bottom in some form. This is a very easy read, astounding and real. From the top to the very bottom (attempting suicide)-what an amazing testimony. The lesson learned - " God wants to work in all of us", page 83.I would recommend this book to everyone.

This book was well-written but so many details were missing. The author just skimmed the surface of his life, his addiction and his recovery. Never giving deep details into anything he wrote about. It leaves you wondering.
This book offers great hope for those caught in the clutches of addiction -whether it be to drugs, alcohol, sex or money. It is well written and concise.
I thought Rocky was very credible in telling his story of addiction. From start to finish, you could see that he had it made where the worldly things of life were concerned. He was successful in business, and had very responsible, leadership positions. Palatial homes, women, fast cars. The world was his oyster! But that did not satisfy. He got connected with a Mission in Oakland after he went from alcohol, to deeding more and more drugs when finally Heroin. When he became involved with the dedicated Missions program Director, Shirley and Michael Pounds, he began to turn his life around . He was enrolled in a 5 Step Program, admitting you are powerless to manage your life, and need a Higher Power. That Higher Power for Rocky was non other than Jesus, God's own Son and Savior. Rocky turned from his sins, accepted Jesus as his personal Savior, and cleaned up his life, free of drug addiction, and with Jesus help, started his walk with Jesus Christ. Subsequently, he was up at Mt. Hermon Christian Conference Grounds. and his wife was there too. It did not happen they actually met formally, but a spark of interest came about by both. One year later, they were both at Mt, Hermon, and they got together. It has been a Marriage made in heaven. The Lord gave both of them a new life together, serving The Lord Jesus Christ. They live in Colorado, where they attend Evangelical Free Church in Colorado. Tamara and Rocky have a Ministry to the homeless, and anyone struggling with addiction. I am so very darling, humble couple and the love they have for the Lord Jesus Christ. But, more that that, that they have chosen to be transparent about their own lives in order to help those who struggle with the same thing.
I am sober just over 3yrs now, and I can relate to this in so many ways. I can only hope to accumulate the years and the faith you represent in your message.
God's will is a work in progress for me, the reason I'm reading recovery memoirs.

Such a miraculous example of God's love for us. Loved reading this because it has a happy ending and leaves me with hope for my son who is going through the same struggle with drugs. Thank you for writing this book and showing your readers how great our God's love is.
It's a well written tale of one man's redemption and rescue from the drug lifestyle, through religion. But the "book" is very short and goes too strong on the "praise Jesus" stuff for me. Might be worth a look, but just when you start to get involved in the story, it ends.
